Cardigan Sweater: c/o Joie, Sweater: American Eagle, Shirt: NY & Company, Shorts: Theory via TJ Maxx, Shoes: TJ Maxx, Necklace: Stella & Dot

Fall always feels so collegiate to me.. reminiscent of back to school shopping where you bought tons of plaids and cable knits.  I never wore a uniform but if I had to I’m sure I would’ve chucked the long pleated skirt for a cute pair of flannel shorts like these!  This is a little more buttoned up than I’m usually comfortable in but I couldn’t help playing up these cute shorts and polka dot shirt.  It’s a very literal interpretation of the classic pieces and I can’t wait to mix them together in unexpected ways!  The sweater is definitely the investment piece here, but it’s not too tough to find something similar at a lower price point. try try try

I just landed in Cincinnati for a day for a speaking engagement tomorrow.  Wish me luck!

I agree – Fall is all about new school supplies, pretty plaids, and cozy knits. I like your interpretation with this outfit – esp. the luxe sweater. good luck in Cincinnati!

Good Luck! There is an AMAZING clothing boutique in Cincinnati in Hyde Park called Alligator Purse. A little pricely usually, but they have a phenom selection.
