In Transition
March 6, 2013

Dress: Club Monaco, Tights: Hue, Shoes: Sole Society, Necklace: La Petite Princesse Lip: NYX Matte Cream in Amsterdam
Happy Wednesday! Shopping the transition period can be tricky because all of the springy pieces just don’t seem wearable until it actually gets warm out. This dress is the perfect example of a year-round investment piece without the investment. Throw it on with tights, boots and a coat, or save it for later and wear it with a great pair of sandals. I sort of opted to do a little both because I’m totally down with the tights and sandals game.
I’m also really down for a matte red lip lately. I found a red color that actually shows up a classic red on my lips (sometimes my undertones make reds look pink). I made sure to line my lips first, fill them in with the pencil and then dabbed on the matte cream. Stays on all day!

The print & shape of this dress is just lovely – I can definitely see it being wearable year round!

Love the cool blue popping in contrast to the otherwise warm palette~ Club Monaco is one of my favs as well, although I’m still cuddling in the winter collection.
I love pops of color!

I’ve been up to the same game lately. Sometimes putting a sweater over a dress & wearing it more like a sweater/skirt. And I dig that matte red lip. YSL has a really nice one too.
Gorgeous dress! I love it with the polka dot tights and bright shoes. That red lip color looks very nice on you, I agree with you on spring clothes, I just went shopping, but I can’t actually wear any of the clothes yet.
So beautiful and professional! Those shoes are an interesting choice….can’t say I love the blue with the crazy print of the dress and tights but overall the look is really great.
